Confessional Reformed perspectives on things human and divine…
Thanks for tuning in — our overarching goal here is to promote and explore the confessional Reformed faith in all its richness, because we feel it most faithfully encapsulates the Spirit-inspired histories and teachings of the Bible, centering on Christ, “the whole counsel of God for our salvation” (Acts 20:27).
Brannan (Creed) I’m a 28-year-old student at the University of Aberdeen; Lord willing, I’ll be here in Scotland three years or so getting my PhD in Systematic Theology. I just graduated from Westminster Seminary California, studying Historical Theology, mainly Post-Reformation Reformed Orthodoxy. I’m a member of the PCA. I’ve been married for nearly 6 years to my lovely wife Kate, and we have a beautiful 2-year-old daughter, Lily, and baby boy, Callum. When I’m not busy reading, writing, studying, and helping Kate take care of the kids, I like to spend time with my wife and kids, read, write, and study. Enjoy Creed or Chaos!
I’m 44, I recently got hitched to my lovely wife Alisia and have become the proud step-father of 3 and a half yr. old Isabelle. The Westminster community helped my wife make one heck of a beautiful wedding right here at the chapel. I still surf but not as much as before. All of us still live with the gracious Dr. Peter and Rebecca Jones (They’ve become family to us now). And as I finish my very last semester here at Westminster Seminary California I find myself eagerly trying to figure out what to do with my four years of training at this incredible institution . I can’t believe the Westminster experience is coming to an end. These four years have been the most transforming years of my life. I know the Lord is working all over the place but I have to insist that if any of you bright stars are considering pursuing the ministry of word and sacrament then you absolutely must begin here at Westminster Seminary California. Unlike many faculties that are so divided theologically the professors here are united in their commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In my humble opinion, the community of believers made up of the many nearby churches, which are influenced by the seminary, make San Diego the brightest place on earth.
A 27-year-old student of historical theology at Westminster Seminary California, I’m finding it terribly difficult to narrow my academic interests. I enjoy reading, studying, and writing about literature, philosophy, languages (both ancient and modern), and, of course, theology—particularly Reformed theology. Most often my time is spent doing the aforementioned activities, as well as hanging out with my family—Erin (wife) and Jackson (newborn son). Additionally, I’m a foster parent to 8 teenage boys. We love to go to theaters, malls, museums, skate parks, parks, theme parks, the beach, and downtown San Diego. In the rare occasion I’m not surrounded by people or books, I like to be alone feeling the wind beat against my body as I weave through the windy roads of Escondido on my wanna-be Harley (Honda Shadow Spirit 750).
Matt T.
I’m 24 and a second year M.Div. student at Westminster Seminary California. I was raised in a covenant Reformed home, the son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and brother of pastors in the United Reformed Churches. I have a passion for reading in a wide variety of areas, including fiction, politics, history, news, and theology. After graduating from Covenant College I worked for two years in Washington D.C., one year in the legislative branch and one year in the executive, and my political streak hasn’t left me yet. For now, however, I’m called to study the Scriptures and theology for the purpose of teaching and preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ. I’m the favorite uncle of 13 nephews and nieces and a die-hard hockey fan of the Edmonton Oilers. And I blog at www.truthorvanity.blogspot.com
Matt Haeck
Hi this is Phil (Chaos). Unfortunately when I changed my profile above I deleted super-star musician Matt Haeck’s profile by mistake. The following is a temporary profile inserted by yours truly. The purpose of this temp profile is to prompt Matt H. to re-do his own profile. Matt is our fellow classmate who has tapered off his studies to work on his music career, the audio guy at WSC, and just a good guy all around. Alisia and I were among the many (packed house) who were blessed enough to see him perform last night (May 29,2008). He and the band were great. My brother-in-law Eric even bought a CD and played it all the way home. Our friend Nigel (David Alenskis) plays violin on the CD.

Nice new site guys;…………..looking forward to more
Be Blessed
Nice site, gonna bookmark it and check back regularly.

Doug
Glad you guys are back…and LOOKING GOOD (especially you, Brannan)!
Love, Mom
Looking good. But don’t let that stop you from posting more!
I’m enjoying all the updates, nice site!
I just ran across your site. Haven’t had a chance to dig in much yet, but I am looking forward to doing so. Did any of you happen to go to T4G (Together For The Gospel)?
Adam~
Welcome! No, not me–where was it? If it something’s not in Northeast Scotland, I’m probably going to miss it.

hey Adam,
nice website. so what is T4G all about?
Well, T4G it is in Louisville, Kentucky, so yeah I can see why you wouldn’t go, haha. It is for anybody, but mostly young pastors and students. They have a conference every other year (had one in ‘06, and now in ‘08); I haven’t had a chance to go yet, but I am definitely looking forward to the next one.
Their website is http://www.t4g.org. You should check that out, also they have downloadable messages from the conferences. Some of my friends went this year and they said it was awesome!

Hi guys
I fell accross your site while looking for some wisdom on the unity of the trinity. I read your thoughts on this topic and was blown away with the wisdom. I live in Australia and am going to be undertaking theological studies next year and am chomping at the bit to get started. Just wanted to encourage you with your journey. Keep up the word for the kingdom. Look forward to hearing more from you.
Blessings, Matt
Matt~
Really glad to hear it. I’m actually doing my PhD on trinitarian formulation, and a lot of it look at the relationship between the way we think and speak of God’s oneness and threeness.
Keep in touch,
~B
Matt: Brannan’s the guy you want to talk to. Very thorough and precise. Not to mention zealouse for the 3 in 1. Also, you can learn a lot from Mark Jones on Thomasgoodwin.wordpress.com. Also, our WSC professor Dr. R. Scott Clark has written on this subject. I just saw a related article by him somewhere and I can’t remember where. I’d look but I’m eating breakfast with my wife. Check the Heidelblog or Wscal.edu.
Study hard brother Matt. And if you can at all swing it, get your aussie butt over to Westminster Cali as soon as possible. You won’t be sorry.
