For you who do not want to take time to listen to the R. C. Sproul’s Commencement Address or who already forgot it, here are the two final points that Dr. R. C. Sproul does not want you to forget as long as you live:

    1. “Don’t EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER forget WHERE God has placed the power of salvation! You can not improve on that!”

The Commencement Address was based on Romans 1:16: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” (In other words, to put it in my words, the power of salvation is not in man’s hands; it is in God’s hands. God exercises the power of salvation through the gospel. Skip the Madison Avenue marketing strategies and the other bells and whistles!)

    2. “Whatever happens, don’t be a “Jacanite”!

“Jacanite” (spelling?) means a “bad person”. R. C. Sproul said paraphrasing Martin Luther (who used this term) that God would take care of the “Jacanites”, so we don’t need to be paranoid about them. But still, most importantly, R. C. Sproul said with a large dose of humor: “Whatever happens, don’t be a “Jacanite”!”
